Organization design is often set up after a strategic project has been finished – e. g., during a post merger integration or in order to adjust the organization structure to new strategic directions. Furthermore, shared service projects have recently gained significant importance – among subsidiary companies of large corporations as well as between independent enterprises (network model).

Typical project examples include designing an holding organization for several foreign subsidiary companies of an energy corporation or developing a collaboration concept between corporate functions and semi-autonomous distribution/sales subsidiaries of an energy corporation.
